Mary Brooks Rice
A Chapel Hill native, Mary brings a background in interior design, finance, and event management to her work — along with a steady presence and strong attention to detail.
What began as helping her own mother downsize grew into Go2Crew, a trusted team supporting families across the Triangle with thoughtful, relationship-driven care.
Mary’s positive energy, responsiveness, and can-do spirit bring reassurance to families navigating complex moves, making her someone people are grateful to have by their side.
When she’s not guiding families through meaningful moves, she’s spending time with her three children — Drew and twin daughters, Sarah and Abby. As an avid sports junkie, Mary also enjoys traveling, time with family and friends, exercising, and her dog, Foxie.

My favorite thing about working with Go2Crew is the people I meet and work with. Every job is unique, and I enjoy collaborating with other Go2Crew members to come up with and implement a plan that best serves our client. I find it gratifying to help seniors and/or their families because it can be so daunting and emotional to deal with a lifetime accumulation of stuff. The service we provide brings relief to our clients and often we are able to help local organizations by donating unwanted items.

I like working at Go2Crew because I love our mission - providing a service with intention and treating our clients and their homes with care and respect. We have a wonderful crew that works well together. Everyone is ready to roll up their sleeves and jump in where needed. Working with seniors and their families is the best! Change is hard, and parting with "things" is also hard-we all have a lot of emotion tied up in our belongings. I enjoy helping clients navigate how they want to deal with downsizing or moving, helping them with decision-making, or helping set up a new residence.

I enjoy connecting with people, collaborating on ideas, and finding thoughtful solutions to challenges. I believe work is most meaningful when it’s grounded in curiosity, integrity, and a genuine desire to make things better. I enjoy working with seniors and their families because every person has a lifetime of stories and experiences to share. It’s rewarding to help them feel supported and respected while also guiding families through decisions that can sometimes feel overwhelming. Knowing that my work can make that transition easier for everyone is what I enjoy most.

I enjoy working for Go2Crew because we step in during a time that can feel incredibly overwhelming and emotional for people. Downsizing isn’t just about sorting belongings — it’s about memories, transitions, and often major life changes. I find it meaningful to help clients thoughtfully decide what to keep, donate, or let go of, and to bring order and calm to what can feel like chaos. Being able to support someone through that process and help them feel settled and at peace in their new home is truly rewarding to me. And if I'm being honest, I consider it excellent training for the day(sss) I tackle my Dad's house of 40+ years. I enjoy working with seniors and their families because I get it. It's a privilege to listen to their stories, honor their history, and provide steady support during a major life transition that affects everyone involved.

I enjoy making a difficult time of life a bit easier for our clients. I also appreciate the flexibility of the work schedule and the people I work with. I really like the fact that every day is different. Having gone through downsizing with my parents and ultimately cleaning out their cottage, I understand the emotions surrounding the situation from both the seniors' and their children’s perspectives. It is gratifying to make a difficult situation a bit easier.

Meet Our Crew

Same heart. Expanded crew.
Where It All Began
When Mary’s mother downsized and moved into a retirement community, she lovingly called Mary her “go-to girl.” That simple phrase became the foundation of the business.
What started as helping her own mother soon grew into helping other families who needed:
-
Patient guidance while sorting through decades of memories
-
Help deciding what to keep, share, donate, or let go
-
A steady presence on move day
As the work grew, so did the team. We intentionally keep our crew small so every family receives steady guidance and personal attention. Today, Go2Crew reflects what the business has always been — the same heart, supported by a trusted crew.
